# Preznt vs. Wise

Both let you pay people abroad without a traditional bank wire. Wise is a multi-currency account; Preznt is a single US dollar account that can also pay by email and to crypto wallets. Here's how they differ, and when Wise is the better pick.

| | Preznt | Wise |
| --- | --- | --- |
| What you hold | One US dollar balance, held as USDC on Solana. | Up to 40 currencies. |
| Account cost | Free to open; no monthly fee. | Free to register; no subscriptions or plans. |
| Paying a EUR bank account | SEPA payout converted from your dollar balance at Bridge's rate when it settles; Bridge charges 0.75%, taken out of the amount paid. Usually 1–2 business days. | Converts at the mid-market rate plus a conversion fee that varies by currency, from 0.23%. Wise's calculator shows the exact fee for a route. |
| Paying a US bank account | ACH payout in dollars; Bridge's 0.75% fee, usually 1–2 business days. | Supported; see Wise's calculator for the fee. |
| Paying someone with no account | Pay by email — held in escrow until they claim it, refundable until then, no Preznt fee. Paying an existing Preznt user is instant and free. | Pay by email on many currency routes — Wise emails the recipient to collect their bank details, which you never see. Some routes are excluded. |
| Getting paid by others | No receiving account details; you fund by card, bank, or USDC. | Free account details to receive in 22 currencies; domestic USD/EUR payments in are free, USD wires/Swift in cost $6.11 and EUR Swift in €2.39. |
| Card | No card. | One-time $9; free to spend; free ATM withdrawals up to $250/month, then $1.95 + 1.95%. |
| Crypto / stablecoins | Pay a Solana wallet or transfer USDC in free. | Not mentioned on the Wise pages we checked. |
| Identity verification | Required once, run by Bridge (a Stripe company). | Required — Wise verifies your ID after you register. |

## Example: paying $500 to a euro bank account with Preznt

Bridge's 0.75% fee is $3.75, taken out of the amount paid, so $496.25 is converted to euros at Bridge's rate when the payment settles. Preznt adds no fee of its own. For Wise, enter the same amount in its calculator — its fee varies by currency route.
